Where omega-3 starts the job
A conventional omega-3 supplement provides EPA and DHA, the fatty acids most people already know. These are precursors: raw material your body uses across a wide range of functions, including the production of the molecules involved in resolving inflammation.
The key word is precursors. EPA and DHA aren’t the finished compound, they’re the starting point your body still has to convert enzymatically into an active form. That conversion happens in everyone, but not at the same rate. Age, diet, genetics and overall metabolic health all shape how efficiently it takes place.
Omega-3 opens the pathway. It doesn’t complete it on its own.
