Fish Oil supplements provide EPA and DHA, which are the building blocks the body uses to produce Specialized Pro-Resolving Mediators (SPM), natural molecules involved in the body’s normal process of resolving inflammation.
However, increasing fish oil intake does not necessarily result in the production of sufficient SPM. The conversion of EPA and DHA into SPM is a complex biological process that can be influenced by factors such as age, health status, and the body’s ability to produce these specialized molecules.
An SPM supplement provides these bioactive molecules directly, rather than relying on the body to convert fish oil into SPM, providing direct support for the natural resolution of inflammation.
